AMD
Overview
AMD (Advanced Micro Devices) is a major semiconductor company designing CPUs, GPUs, and networking silicon for data center and AI workloads. Through its NTSG networking division (formerly Pensando, acquired in 2022), AMD develops P4-programmable DPUs and AI NICs that compete directly with NVIDIA's networking products. AMD's GPU portfolio (Instinct MI300X, MI325X, MI400) and CPU portfolio (EPYC) position the company as the primary alternative to NVIDIA for AI training and inference infrastructure.
At the 2025 OCP Global Summit Expo Hall Sessions, AMD featured prominently across networking, compute, and AI infrastructure discussions, with its Pollara 400 AI NIC shipping to 20+ customers and the Helios AI rack (72 GPUs, MI400, Venice CPUs) announced for mid-2026.
