Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Effective Date: June 3, 2026
1. Information We Collect
Rencewise Research ("Rencewise," "we," "us") collects information that you provide directly, as well as information generated through your use of our services. This includes:
- Account information — name, email address, and profile picture received from your identity provider when you sign in with Google, Facebook, or another third-party authentication service. We do not collect or store your password from these providers.
- Usage data — pages viewed, research reports accessed, login timestamps, and session duration within our platform.
- Device and technical data — IP address, browser type, operating system, and referring URLs collected via standard web technologies.
- Communications — content of messages you send us through our contact form, email, or other channels.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect for the following purposes:
- To authenticate your identity and provide access to our research platform.
- To provide, maintain, and improve our research services.
- To communicate with you regarding your account, service updates, and new research publications.
- To analyze usage patterns and improve the relevance and quality of our offerings.
- To comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not use your personal information for advertising, retargeting, or to train machine-learning models. We do not sell your data.
3. Information Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information in the following limited circumstances:
- Authentication providers — we use Auth0 as our identity broker, which connects to Google and Meta (Facebook) for social sign-in. Auth0 processes your authentication token on our behalf under a data-processing agreement.
- Infrastructure providers — our platform is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS). AWS processes server logs and request data on our behalf.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice provided to affected users.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. These include encryption in transit and at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide our services. We may retain certain information for longer periods as required by law, for legitimate business purposes, or to resolve disputes.
You may request deletion of your account and all associated personal data at any time by emailing privacy@rencewise.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days. Upon deletion, we remove your name, email, profile picture, and usage history from our systems. If we discontinue the service, we will delete all user data within 90 days of shutdown.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of your personal information.
- Object to or restrict certain processing of your data.
- Receive your data in a portable format.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@rencewise.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:
- Authentication — a session cookie to keep you signed in after you log in via Google, Facebook, or another identity provider.
- Preferences — a local-storage entry to remember your light/dark theme choice.
- Analytics — we use Google Analytics (via Google Tag Manager) to understand how visitors use our site, including pages viewed, time on site, and traffic sources. Google Analytics sets cookies (e.g.,
_ga,_gid) to distinguish unique users and sessions. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you. Google's use of this data is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.
We do not use cookies for advertising or retargeting. You may adjust your browser settings to refuse cookies, though doing so may prevent you from signing in or reduce the accuracy of our analytics.
8. Google API Services Limited Use Disclosure
Rencewise's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We only use Google user data (name, email, profile picture) to authenticate your identity and provide access to our platform. We do not use Google user data for advertising, transfer it to third parties for unrelated purposes, or use it to train machine-learning models.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the revised policy on our website with an updated effective date. Your continued use of our services following such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
