Overview

Alibaba Cloud is a hyperscale cloud provider and one of the largest operators of AI training infrastructure globally. In the networking domain, Alibaba has developed HPN (High Performance Network), a purpose-built data center network architecture for large language model training that has reached its seventh generation (HPN 7.0). The company takes a vertically integrated approach, designing in-house switch ASICs, optical modules, programmable NICs, transport protocols, and collective communication libraries, achieving 96% linear scaling efficiency at 10,000 accelerators.
