Centers of Excellence for ATMPs

Overview

EU-promoted hub model where ATMP research, manufacturing, and clinical expertise are concentrated regionally, enabling rapid technology transfer and knowledge sharing across rare disease programs and countries. The EU is promoting Centers of Excellence for ATMPs where research is inherently connected to industry and biotech, creating local and regional ecosystems in different countries to consolidate expertise across the entire ATMP value chain. Centers of Excellence for ATMPs enable sharing of different expertise across the whole value chain and more rapid application of platform technologies from one disease to another, reducing development time for subsequent rare disease programs.
