Overview

Coherent (formerly II-VI Incorporated, which merged with Finisar and later rebranded) is a diversified photonics company producing lasers, optical components, transceivers, and optical circuit switches. In the AI datacenter photonics market, Coherent appears in two distinct capacities: as a CPO ecosystem partner for NVIDIA's Spectrum-6 silicon photonics switch, and as a competing OCS vendor (MEMS/piezoelectric-based) in the optical circuit switch market where iPronics is positioning its silicon photonics product.

Coherent is also listed as a European laser foundry in Estel's European photonics value chain analysis, indicating manufacturing presence in Europe for laser components.
