Credo Semiconductor

Overview

Credo Semiconductor is a semiconductor company focused on high-speed connectivity solutions for AI cluster networks. Credo developed the ZeroFlap (ZF) optics architecture to address the link flap reliability crisis at large-scale AI clusters. The ZeroFlap architecture is built on five pillars: (1) hardened optics via thermal-chamber stress testing achieving 2–3 orders of magnitude margin improvement, (2) segment-by-segment link telemetry (SNR, FEC histograms, I-height from both DSP endpoints), (3) fiber plant health telemetry with multipath interference detection, (4) transceiver health telemetry including ESD damage detection via DSP, and (5) in-band messaging enabling firmware updates from one end to the other. Credo introduced 800G ZeroFlap AECs at OCP 2024 rated at 100 million hours MTBF with 6 billion cumulative field hours without link flaps. Credo's PILOT firmware component serves as a "telemetry time machine," recording historical link health data for post-failure forensics. Credo is contributing the ZeroFlap host specification and host drivers as open contributions to the new OCP Optics Reliability Project.
