Google

Overview

Google is one of the world's largest hyperscale data center operators and a founding member of the Open Compute Project community. As a division of Alphabet Inc., Google designs and operates a global fleet of data centers that power its cloud services, search infrastructure, and increasingly large-scale machine learning workloads. Google's data center engineering teams are among the most influential in shaping industry standards for power distribution, cooling, sustainability, and automation.

Within the OCP Data Center Facilities group, Google holds co-leadership roles across nearly every active workstream, making it one of the most prolific contributors to data center facility standardization. Its representatives span sustainability, thermal cooling systems, coolant distribution units, DC automation, the OCP Ready program, and the newly launched Power sub-project. Google's technical contributions include microgrid architectures for ML data centers, solid-state transformer prototyping, and telemetry standardization.
