Overview

Grok is an AI company (associated with xAI) whose flagship large language model Grok 3 was, at the time of its training cluster deployment in August 2024, described by Supermicro as one of the highest-performance large language models available. The Grok 3 training infrastructure represents a landmark in liquid-cooled AI supercluster deployment: Supermicro's Johnson Jia described the August 8, 2024 turn-on of what he characterized as the world's largest AI supercluster — enabled overnight, taking the company from no supercomputing capacity to a frontier-model-capable facility.
