LPO MSA

Overview

The LPO MSA (Linear Pluggable Optics Multi-Source Agreement) is an industry body that develops interoperability specifications for LPO transceivers. As of October 2025, the LPO MSA published 100G-DR-LPO Revision 1.0 — the first LPO specification for 100 Gb/s per lane on single-mode fiber — enabling interoperable 800G LPO deployments across multiple vendors. The MSA is advancing toward 200 Gbps per lane LPO standardization in preparation for 224G signal rates and 1.6T systems.
