Overview

NOETIK is a biotechnology company based in South San Francisco that builds multimodal foundation models of human biology with a primary focus on oncology. The company operates one of the world's largest spatial transcriptomics labs, running continuously for three years. Its approach centers on paired multimodal patient data — combining histology images (H&E slides) with spatial transcriptomics readouts — to train models that can infer rich biological information from standard-of-care clinical data.

NOETIK's key model, Target 2 (also called Tario), is an autoregressive model that infers a full 19,000-gene transcriptome directly from an H&E image. In a notable zero-shot demonstration, Tario achieved 56% objective response rate (ORR) in trial responder enrichment, compared to 8% in the original failed phase 2 trial — effectively rescuing a failed clinical program. In January 2026, NOETIK announced a partnership with GSK focused on virtual cell modeling.
