NVIDIA Omniverse

Overview

NVIDIA Omniverse is a 3D simulation and digital twin platform that serves as the simulation tier in NVIDIA's three-computer architecture for physical AI. Running on OVX servers alongside Isaac and Cosmos, Omniverse enables teams to generate synthetic training data, simulate robot and factory system behaviors, and validate models in virtual environments before physical deployment. The digital twin loop allows a model trained in the data center to be virtually tested against simulated real-world scenarios, continuously refining it before it touches physical hardware.

In the three-computer architecture, Omniverse occupies the middle tier between DGX training clusters (tier 1) and IGX/Jetson edge inference devices (tier 3), bridging the gap where supervised real-world data is scarce or expensive to collect.
