OCP Compliance Test Suite

Overview

The OCP Compliance Test Suite is the set of conformance tests that validate data center NVMe SSDs against the OCP specifications. It is complementary to the NVMe specification: a drive runs all the standardized NVMe tests plus OCP-specific checks for PCIe, power, thermals, and even simple things like whether the drive is labeled correctly. The suite has grown large — over 400-500 tests in the Austin Labs / OakGate tool spanning OCP 1.08 through 2.6, and roughly 1,000 tests across Sanblaze's full "Certified by Sanblaze" suite. A full OCP run takes about 72 hours start to finish and is expected to grow as specs move out to 2.7. The suite's stated end goal is faster, better-quality drives at lower cost by cutting the test cycle and overall development time — enabling vendors to "shift left" and catch defects in development rather than in the data center.
