Overview

Pravin Patel is Distinguished Engineer and Chief System Architect at Lenovo, serving as the principal technical authority for Lenovo's server platform architecture including the Neptune liquid cooling platform. At OCP Global Summit 2025 he explained the IBM mainframe liquid cooling heritage that underpins Neptune, detailed Neptune's 6th-generation technical specifications, and described the deployment learnings from thousands of nodes across over a decade of large-scale water-cooled installations beginning with LRZ Barcelona in 2012.
