QLC NAND
Overview
QLC (quad-level-cell) NAND sits between TLC and HDD in the storage pyramid. As framed at the 2025 OCP Global Summit, it offers increased storage density, higher terabytes per watt, improved performance-per-terabyte scaling, and power-based performance scaling — the combination that drives demand for high-capacity SSDs and motivated the unified high-capacity E2 form factor effort.
