Radiopharmaceuticals

Overview

Cancer drugs that deliver radioactive isotopes directly to tumor cells via targeting molecules; extremely short half-lives impose a manufacture-to-dose window of hours, requiring proximity manufacturing and compressed supply chains. Radiopharmaceuticals deliver radioactive isotopes directly to cancer cells via targeting molecules such as bicyclic peptides, yielding highly selective tumor kill while rapidly clearing systemic circulation, producing efficacious and safer treatments than prior modalities. Radiopharmaceuticals with a 10-hour half-life require manufacturing to happen in close proximity to the patient; the entire manufacture-to-dose window is under 10 hours, compared with the 3-5 year shelf life targets of conventional pharmaceuticals.
