Overview

Corporate GHG emissions reduction commitments aligned with Paris Agreement climate science, verified through SBTi; increasingly a prerequisite for pharma supplier preferred status, with AstraZeneca among the most demanding purchasers. One in nine companies on the global science-based targets registry is an AstraZeneca supplier; over 80% of AstraZeneca's supply chain spend is now with suppliers who have committed to set science-based targets, many of whom are verified and validated. AstraZeneca requires preferred suppliers to commit to science-based targets through SBTi and uses a consistent global scorecard so that R&D, operations, and commercial teams all target the same supplier sustainability metrics.
