Storage Next

Overview

Storage Next is a stakeholder-driven OCP effort to define and refine IOPS/TCO-optimized SSDs, mature the requirements and design, and bring them to formal standards. Presented at the 2025 OCP Global Summit alongside the GPU-initiated storage and SCADA work, it is framed as "not a spectator sport" — it has a bunch of direct stakeholders contributing to refine requirements and settle on a solid design. The effort invites participants to share their applications so the team can evaluate them and strike the right balance across storage solutions and application domains.
