Texas Instruments
Overview
Texas Instruments (TI) is a major semiconductor company specializing in analog and embedded processing chips. In the data center facility domain, TI is a key supplier of power conversion components including GaN (gallium nitride) power devices, C2000 real-time microcontrollers, and gate drivers that enable high-efficiency power architectures. As data centers transition toward high-voltage DC (HVDC) distribution to improve efficiency and reduce copper usage, TI's component portfolio becomes critical infrastructure.
At the 2025 OCP Global Summit, TI presented a detailed 30 kW HVDC reference design that demonstrated how its components can be combined into a production-ready power conversion solution. The presentation showcased TI's Flying Capacitor PFC topology and achieved 98.5% conversion efficiency, positioning TI as a primary enabler of the HVDC transition that hyperscalers are pursuing.
