iPronics

Overview

iPronics is a Barcelona-based silicon photonics startup founded after ten years of research, specializing in programmable optical circuit switches (OCS) for AI datacenter scale-up networking. The company's core thesis is that silicon photonics — with no moving parts, standard foundry processes, and thousands of MZI switching elements per die — enables OCS port densities (256 ports per 1U) impossible for competing MEMS-based solutions (37 ports per 1U). iPronics is an OCP Startup Member and co-leads the OCP Networking OCS sub-group with Lumentum.

The company's shipping product, ONE32, is a 32×32 gain-controlled O-band optical circuit switch that has been in hyperscaler hands since OFC April 2025. Engineering samples have been distributed and a 64-port version is available Q4 2026. The die roadmap doubles radix every year on the same 20×23 mm die footprint.
