Canopy BMC

Overview

Canopy BMC is a cross-vendor OpenBMC distribution that follows an upstream-first approach for long-term stability. It includes CI/CD validation across various hardware platforms and is positioned as a solution to the stability and LTS gap in upstream OpenBMC — where neither coreboot nor OpenBMC currently has LTS branches or security back-porting windows. Canopy BMC is highlighted by the Open Source Firmware Foundation as one of the emerging solutions to the tension between open-source firmware's high velocity and the stability requirements of production datacenter deployments.
