Frank Frankovsky

Overview

Frank Frankovsky was the visible founding figure and public face of the Open Compute Project (OCP), serving as its most recognizable representative at the inaugural 2011 summit. He was previously at Dell, where he interviewed and hired Brad Rampelberg, before moving to Facebook under Jonathan Hiliger's leadership. Frankovsky's role in launching OCP as an open-hardware initiative — and his charismatic presence at early summits — is credited by early participants as key to building the community of manufacturers, hyperscalers, and ODMs that OCP has become.
