Intel
Overview
Intel Corporation is a semiconductor company that designs and manufactures CPUs, networking silicon, and accelerator products for data center workloads. While NVIDIA and AMD dominate the discrete GPU accelerator market, Intel positions its Xeon processors as critical host CPUs in GPU-based AI servers, handling data preprocessing, checkpointing, KV cache management, and resource orchestration for agentic AI workloads. At Computex 2026, CEO Lip-Bu Tan anchored Intel's transformation narrative around its Intel 18A process node now at full scale with nearly 400 design wins, launched the Xeon 6 Plus (288 E-cores, 576 MB L3 cache, 36,864 cores per rack), and publicly entered the purpose-built silicon market with Google and Ericsson as deployed customers.
At the 2025 OCP Global Summit Expo Hall Sessions, Intel featured across compute and networking discussions, with Xeon 6 offering competitive advantages in memory slot count (32 vs. 24 DIMMs), PCIe 5.0 lane density, and features like Priority Core Turbo and Time Coordinated Computing (TCC) for precision timing applications.
