Overview

MediaTek is a Taiwanese fabless semiconductor company providing ASIC design services to all major cloud service providers (CSPs). The company's data center business is built around four pillars: advanced process and packaging technology, a strong IP portfolio, a collaborative ecosystem with leading foundry and memory vendors, and a flexible engagement model spanning spec-in to hybrid co-design.

MediaTek shipped its first chiplet design in mass production approximately 2020 (one compute die + eight 100G SerDes IO chiplets) and has continued advancing packaging architecture — including a 2018 Hybrid CoWoS design achieving effective 3x reticle size before TSMC offered it natively. As of October 2025, the company is near-ready for 2nm and actively moving to TSMC A16, with 224G SerDes in production and 448G in development.
