Overview

Minh Hoang is a storage engineer at Meta who led the open-sourcing of Meta's SSD qualification test cases via the OCP Diag AutoVal framework on GitHub. At OCP Global Summit 2025 he announced that, as of that day, all of Meta's SSD test cases were available on GitHub for download. He described how left-shifting SSD testing to vendors — letting them run Meta's test suite on candidate firmware in their own labs — cut Meta's firmware regression cycle from 8 weeks to 6 weeks, a 25% reduction. Hoang also announced that Meta planned to release its SSD security test cases to GitHub in Q4 2025, building on the existing open-source qualification suite.
