Overview

NTT (Nippon Telegraph and Telephone) is a Japanese telecommunications company whose NTT Devices division is developing Co-Packaged Optics (CPO) switch technology and contributing to the SONiC ecosystem. NTT built an OIF IA-compliant CPO switch prototype featuring a 51.2T switch ASIC with 16 optical engines and 8 external lasers, and is working to address the software challenges of integrating CPO with SONiC's transceiver management subsystems.
