Rick Walsh is Senior VP at Sanblaze, a vendor of protocol- and link-layer test tools focused specifically on NVMe. He positions Sanblaze as an early adopter that thrives on being first to market with its technology — shipping PCIe Gen 6 tooling now — because being late "significantly hurts our revenue." Walsh argues that third-party test vendors can keep pace with niche, fast-changing OCP specs in ways internal vendor teams and resources cannot, and is a vocal proponent of running full-compliance OCP suites with proper ADP/parameter files (without which, he says, results are "kind of bogus").
