Rob Campbell
Overview
Rob Campbell leads Flex's IT hardware business, integration business, and liquid cooling business. At OCP Global Summit 2025, he co-presented with Chris Butler on the case for rearchitecting data centers around convergence of power, cooling, and IT hardware. Campbell framed the central problem as organizational: at most large data center operators, power, cooling, and IT teams are completely siloed — separate business units that do not converge until four levels up in the org chart. He illustrated the architectural evolution from today's 48 V air-cooled standard through a 2027 liquid-cooled 400–800 V DC architecture and a 2030 next-gen design using solid-state transformers, noting that rack power has escalated from 20 kW to 50 kW to 1 MW in approximately one year. He also highlighted that Flex is actively building 1 MW rack prototypes at 400 V DC for customers planning near-term deployment.
