Overview

Chunsung (CS) Kim is Senior Vice President of eSSD Product Development (eSSD PD) at SK hynix. In October 2025, at OCP Global Summit in San Jose, he presented the AIN Family — SK hynix's three-product line of AI-optimized NAND storage — to an executive audience. His central thesis was that AI infrastructure has entered "the era of tokens," where memory bandwidth and token throughput per watt have replaced compute FLOPs as the primary system bottleneck. He cited reasoning models driving a ~10x increase in output token volume in 2025 (Grok 4 at 110M tokens vs. Claude 4 Opus at 11M) as evidence for this inflection.
