Summary
Inventec presents its liquid cooling journey spanning from 2012 to 2026, positioning itself as the fourth-ranked global company in liquid cooling patents and number one among Taiwanese ODMs (per Digit Times). The roadmap covers: container data center with two-phase DLC (2012), closed-loop two-phase immersion cooling tank (2016), thermosiphon (2019), GPU rack with single-phase DLC and open-loop single-phase immersion cooling (2020), DLC solution with rear-door heat exchangers and integrated rack-level thermal control algorithms (2022), Intel Open IP 48U 60W-100 kW immersion cooling tank and NVIDIA GH200/GB200/MGX server collaboration (2023-2024), and NVIDIA GB300 with super fluid technology and innovative immersion cooling architecture (2025-2026). The GB300 NVL72 is ready to ship by end of 2025.
Key innovations include: a cold plate "reservoir" feature that creates walls around the top side of cold plates to contain leaked coolant at pipe joints, buying time for repair; "Lambert," a new immersion cooling architecture where dielectric fluid fills individual chassis (not one large tank), enabling blade-server-like node swapping; and "super fluid" technology developed with Intel and Prost, which integrates a bubble generator into CDUs to inject air-like lubricant into oil-based immersion fluids, reducing their high viscosity to improve flow rate and CDU performance.
