Yong Lee

Overview

Dr. Yong Lee is the Director of the AI Research Center at Hon Hai Research Institute (Foxconn's R&D arm). He co-presented FoxBrain at the OCP Global Summit 2025 in San Jose alongside Dr. Chen (Chief AI Scientist). Lee articulated Foxconn's strategic vision: transforming from a Manufacturing Service Company into a Platform Service Company by building three AI-powered smart platforms — Smart Manufacturing, Smart EV, and Smart City — all underpinned by the FoxBrain foundation model. He described a three-year effort by the AI Research Center collecting and organizing domain-specific data, provisioning compute, and ultimately training a large language model designed to "best understand manufacturing knowledge."
