YTL

Overview

YTL is a Malaysian conglomerate identified at OCP Global Summit 2025 as an example of an emerging sovereign neocloud operator that leverages existing utility and infrastructure assets to build AI data centers for regional customers. YTL partnered with Wiwynn and Nvidia to deploy a Level 12 AI cluster architecture in Malaysia, representing Wiwynn's end-to-end deployment capability spanning hardware architecture definition, network topology design, on-site installation, and LLM workload validation.

YTL is one of approximately 20 sovereign neocloud players identified in the market as of October 2024, distinct from pure-play GPU cloud companies (Lambda, CoreWeave) and traditional hyperscalers (AWS, Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure). The sovereign neocloud category is characterized by leveraging existing infrastructure (power, connectivity, land) to serve AI compute demand in regional markets outside the traditional US/European hyperscaler footprint.
