Rebellions

Overview

Rebellions is a South Korean AI chip startup designing chiplet-based AI accelerators with an annual tape-out cadence since 2022. The roadmap progressed from the ION single neural engine chip (TSMC 7nm, 4 TFLOPS FP16, 4MB SRAM, 2022) to the ATOM AI-as-a-Service SoC (Samsung 5nm, 32 TFLOPS FP16, 64MB SRAM, PCIe Gen5 + GDDR6, 2023) to the REBEL-Q (Samsung SF4X 4nm, first chiplet design, 2024) and the REBEL-IO I/O die (TSMC 7nm, scalable scale-up/scale-out Ethernet, 2025), with REBEL-MEM and REBEL-CPU chiplets planned for 2026.

REBEL-Q is the company's flagship: four REBEL_H NPU dice on an ICube-S interposer with four HBM3E (12H) stacks, delivering 2 PFLOPS FP8 / 1 PFLOPS FP16, 4.8 TB/s HBM bandwidth, 144 GB HBM capacity, 512 MB on-chip SRAM, UCIe Advanced D2D at 4 TB/s total (3 TB/s per chiplet), 2x PCIe Gen5 x16 host interface, 320 sqmm die / 2200 sqmm interposer, 600W TDP. REBEL-Q was demonstrated at Hot Chips 2025.

Rebellions joined the Arm Total Design (ATD) ecosystem in 2025 to integrate an Arm Neoverse V3 CSS CPU chiplet alongside its NPU chiplets in the four-party AI CPU chiplet platform co-developed with Arm, Samsung Foundry, and ADTechnology. The platform targets ~3x power and performance efficiency over existing solutions for LLM inference.
