Samsung Foundry

Overview

Samsung Foundry is the semiconductor foundry division of Samsung Electronics, competing directly with TSMC for advanced node manufacturing. Samsung Foundry claims to be the only foundry offering a one-stop-shop bundle combining leading-edge process technology (2nm GAA — the company's third generation of gate-all-around transistors — and below), advanced memory (HBM with custom base die, NAND), advanced packaging (2.5D ICube-S, 2.3D, 3D), and the SAFE ecosystem of 100+ IP, EDA, cloud, design-service, and OSAT partners.

Key engagements include manufacturing Rebellions' REBEL-Q on SF4X (4nm) with ICube-S packaging, and serving as the process and packaging partner for the four-party AI CPU chiplet platform (Arm + Samsung + ADTechnology + Rebellions). The process roadmap spans 14nm FinFET through 2nm GAA. Manufacturing fabs include South Korea (Giheung, Hwaseong, and Pyeongtaek) and USA (Austin S2-Line in mass production and the new Taylor fab).
