Overview

MiTAC Computing Technology Corp. is an OEM server and datacenter hardware vendor that has positioned open-source firmware at the center of its product strategy. MiTAC publishes its complete OpenBMC/OPF codebase (MiTAC-MioBMC) on GitHub, enabling CSP and ISV customers to maintain their own firmware stacks beyond standard warranty periods. Its unified codebase supports AMD Genoa and Turin platforms (B8261, S8050, B8056, Capri2, Capri3) and the Intel BHS platform (R2520G6, R2513G6), with Coreboot contributions upstreamed. MiTAC operates a three-flow ecosystem: OTS product features development, ODM/JDM support for CSPs and ISVs, and post-warranty sustaining support via ISV partner 9elements. In 2025, MiTAC committed engineering resources to build the OCP OPF openSFI Vendor Adapter Layer (VAL) proof-of-concept, iterating through milestones v0.3, v0.5, v0.8, and v1.0 in deep partnership with AMD, 9elements, and other OPF members.
